What happens
The horses live free on the mountains all year. Before dawn the villagers drive them down to Sabucedo. In the curro (ring), aloitadores, unarmed, hold each horse while its mane is cut. The horses are then released back to the hills.

Dates for 2027 are based on the fixed date or the usual rule. Confirm with the organisers or town hall before booking.
