What happens
The chupinazo rocket at noon on 6 July starts the fiesta. Each morning from the 7th to the 14th at 8 am, six bulls and steers run 875 metres through the streets to the bullring. Days are for parades of giants and big-heads, music and drinking; nights end with fireworks. On the 14th crowds sing “Pobre de mí” with candles.
When it is held
Noon on 6 July to midnight on 14 July, every year.
Dates for 2027 are based on the fixed date or the usual rule. Confirm with the organisers or town hall before booking.
Tips
- Running is dangerous and people are injured every year. Watching from a balcony (rented) or the bullring is safer.
- Rooms sell out a year ahead; many people stay in nearby towns.
Where it happens
Pamplona: Home of San Fermín, and for the other 51 weeks a calm, green, very liveable city with medieval walls and great pintxos.
How to experience it

- Experience the chupinazo, the opening rocket, at noon on 6 July in the town hall square.
- Stay for the Pobre de mí closing ceremony on 14 July.
Bring
- White clothes with a red neckerchief.
